(KTRS) – The Missouri Department of Transportation is sharing some good news about the agency’s budget forecast.
MoDOT previously said that by 2017 they would not have the money to fully maintain three-quarters of the state’s roads. But that is changing, the latest reports reveal a new picture. MoDOT says that tax revenue is up and the federal government is giving the state additional transportation money.
Officials say it appears that MoDOT will now be able maintain all roads in their current condition and prevent the deterioration of more bridges across the state.
