St. Charles County, MO (KTRS) The Missouri Department of Transportation is facing legal action following a traffic accident near Wentzville that claimed the lives of a mother and her two children last month.
Relatives of the victims, 36-year-old Jacqueline Faudi and her 6-year-old and 7-month-old daughters, filed a wrongful death suit against MODOT this week. The suit alleges that MODOT was negligent in failing to install a cable barrier along the stretch of 61 where fatal crash occurred on January 21st.
Authorities say a northbound car lost control and struck the rear of Faudi’s car, which was also northbound, causing both cars to spin out of control and cross a grassy median. Faudi’s car struck a southbound SUV.
The suit also names the driver of the car that rear-ended Faudi’s vehicle.
A spokesman for MoDOT declined comment.
