St. Louis County, MO (KTRS) A Missouri lawmaker is calling for a buyout for north county homeowners living near radioactive waste.
Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal has introduced a bill that would allow homeowners to let the state buy their homes if they live within three miles of the West Lake Landfill, the Bridgeton Landfill, or Coldwater Creek. The proposed legislation is before a Senate committee.
The buyout would reportedly cost the state $7-million.
