( KTRS ) A driver asleep at the wheel is believed to be the cause of a fatal crash on 270 Saturday night.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports that 20 yr old D’Angelo Bernaugh fell asleep, while driving, around 10:50pm Saturday night on eastbound 270. Her SUV struck another, pushing it off the right side of the pavement and into a street light support. The driver of that vehicle, 71 yr old Thomas Orbin, died at the scene.

The passenger, 70 yr old Pamela Orbin, was rushed to hospital in serious condition.
