(KTRS) – The Missouri House voted to override Governor Jay Nixon’s veto of a bill that creates photo identification requirements for voters.
The bill is part of a two-pronged approach to require ID’s at the polls. In November voters will cast ballots on an initiative that would put the requirements into effect. Supporters of the bill believe it will withstand a legal challenge becuase it provides free identification cards to voters if needed.
The Senate will now need to hold its own override vote.
