(KTRS) – The Republican-led Missouri legislature is proposing millions of dollars in cuts to the University of Missouri System.
The cuts are part of a total budget proposal from the House Budget Leader Tom Flanigan. The plan relies on a revenue increase of just over 3 percent, a smaller increase than Governor Jay Nixon assumed for his budget proposal. As part of the House budget, University of Missouri would see an $8 million cut.
Part of the cuts include eliminating the salary for assistant professor Melissa Click. The remaining cuts would come from the university system administration, with supporters saying cuts should affect administrators and not students.
