( KTRS ) Snow melt from the north and recent rains have pushed the Mississippi River slightly above flood stage at several towns north of St. Louis.
The National Weather Service reports that, as of Thursday, the river was a little over a foot above technical flood stage in Hannibal, where it is expected to crest Friday. The river is also slightly above flood stage in Louisiana, Clarksville and Winfield, with crests expected in those towns by Saturday.
No major problems are expected. A few farm fields and roads near the waterway are impacted.
