Chesterfield, MO (KTRS) Donald Trump’s running mate hit the campaign trail in the Show-Me-State on Tuesday.
Indiana Governor Mike Pence attended a town hall in Springfield before speaking at a rally at the Doubletree Hotel in Chesterfield. There he spoke to hundreds of supporters, including state G-O-P candidates.
Pence’s speech centered around national security, foreign policy, and the economy, including reviving the coal industry.
“On day one of the Trump administration, we’re end the war on coal once and for all. We’re gonna develop all the natural resources of this nation and its power and support jobs in America.” said Pence.
G-O-P gubernatorial candidate Eric Greitens also spoke at the rally. “Mike Pence and I have a very clear message for all of the well paid lobbyists and the corrupt insiders and their special interest friends, that this is not their government and we are here to take it back.”
The rally was disrupted briefly by a protester while Pence was speaking about the late Phyllis Schlafly.
