Belleville, IL  (KTRS)   A metro-east man is dead as a result of the powerful storms that moved through the area Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities say the man came into contact with a live power line while removing tree limbs at his Belleville home on South 18th Street.  The victim’s name hasn’t been released.

Anyone who spots a downed power line should contact Ameren immediatedly.
