St. Louis, MO (KTRS) A man is recovering after being struck by a train just south of downtown St. Louis.
Authorities say the man was hit by a Union Pacific train at South Second Street and Chouteau around 11 p.m. Wednesday. After he was struck, he became trapped under the train on the elevated tracks.
It took firefighters about an hour to rescue him. He was transported to the hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.
There’s no word on why he was on the tracks.
