ST. LOUIS (AP) — St. Louis police are searching for two men in a red Ford Mustang following a fatal shooting along a popular trail for hiking and biking.
A man in his 50s died Friday after being shot in the chest. Police say he was sitting in a minivan with three other people along the St. Louis Riverfront Trail when two men in a Mustang pulled up and asked for help with their battery.
The victim helped with the battery, then the men announced a robbery and shot him. No one else was hurt.
Police say the victim did not know the assailants, and it did not appear that anything was taken. Police are reviewing surveillance cameras in the search for the killers.
