ST. LOUIS (AP) – A suspect shot by St. Louis police in a confrontation after a traffic stop is now facing charges.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 22-year-old Antoine Boone is charged with tampering with a motor vehicle and resisting arrest. He is jailed on $100,000 cash-only bond. Police say Boone and another man were in a stolen Jeep Grand Cherokee Tuesday and fled when police tried to pull them over. Spike strips were used to puncture the tires.
Police say Boone ran into an alley with a gun and refused to drop it and allegedly turned toward the officer who shot Boone in the hip.
Boone was treated and released at a hospital. The second suspect is still at large.
The officer is on administrative leave.
