CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) – A St. Louis County man has been sentenced to life in prison for killing his friend on a Ferguson street in 2013.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 32-year-old Terry Lee Simmons was sentenced in the shooting death of 28-year-old Quinton Luckett. Luckett was fatally shot on Nov. 9, 2013. Prosecutors say Simmons was angry because the two of them had been involved in a drive-by shooting the day before, but Luckett didn’t shoot.
Simmons pleaded guilty last fall and was sentenced on Friday. He was also sentenced to life in prison for robbery and armed criminal action, and to 15 years in prison for drug crimes.
