( KTRS ) The owners of a local orchard are mourning the loss of a family member who died in a plane crash.

Larry Mills was piloting a ‘Life Flight’ from California to Oregon, Friday, when smoke began to appear in the cockpit. Apparently radars lost the plane soon after that. In total 4 people died in the crash.

Mills’ family owns Mills Apple Farm in Marine, Illinois.
