( KTRS ) A St. Louis man has been arrested for shooting a rookie St. Louis police officer. The 24-year-old probationary officer was patrolling with a sergeant Sunday night when they saw a man acting suspiciously.
The man, identified as 23 yr old Walter Saddler then ran, and officers chased him through an alley. As the officer and Saddler struggled, the suspect fired a gun, which struck the officer.
Authorities say Saddler was arrested and faces multiple charges in the shooting, including assault on a law enforcement officer. His bond was set at $300,000.
The officer is recovering after being hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening.
