( KTRS ) Police are investigating after a man was shot in North County Tuesday afternoon.

Officers were initially called to an area of Prince Drive, in the Castlepoint neighborhood, for a shooting around 4:20 pm. Upon arrival it was discovered that all involved in the shooting had fled the area. A short time later a man arrived at a nearby hospital suffering gun shot wounds and later died from his injuries.

Police say the man was taken to the hospital, seemingly by someone else, but did not release further information.
