( KTRS ) A man charged with kidnapping his 13-year-old stepdaughter and her newborn son is now back in Illinois.

39 yr old Christopher Derleth is in custody in the Madison County Jail on charges of aggravated kidnapping and parental abduction. He was taken into custody last month, after being discovered at a remote West Virginia camp site with the children.

Their disappearance sparked a nationwide Amber Alert.
