( KTRS ) A man has been charged in connection with St. Louis city’s first homicide of 2016.
On Thursday the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges against 25 yr old Demarko Jones, of St. Louis, for one count of Murder in the Second Degree, and one count of Armed Criminal Action.
On Wednesday, police responded to a call for a shooting in the 10100 block of Duke. Upon arrival officers found 24 yr old Mark Johnson, in the front yard of a home with multiple gunshot wounds, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect remained on the scene when police arrived and was taken into custody. Authorities say a confrontation occurred in the front yard of the residence that ultimately led to Jones shooting and killing Johnson.
Jones is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.
