( KTRS ) A man has been charged after a St. Charles County SWAT team was called to the scene of a domestic disturbance.
Authorities were called October 30th, upon arrival officers found the girlfriend of 53 yr old Charles Johnston outside of the home at the scene.
The victim told police that Johnston had physically assaulted her and threatened to shoot everyone in the house. Johnston’s 17-year old daughter was also in the residence, but contact was made with her and she was able to leave the residence without Johnston knowing.
SWAT team members tried several methods of reaching Johnston inside the home. Eventually a robot was sent to the front door and as it arrived Johnston opened the front door and surrendered peacefully. During the search of the residence, two firearms were located. One of which was reported stolen.
Johnston has been charged with Domestic Assault 2nd degree, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Receiving Stolen Property. His bond is set at $100,000 cash only.
