JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — Democratic Attorney General Chris Koster maintains a fundraising lead for Missouri governor, though some Republicans are cutting into his cash advantage.
Reports filed Friday with the Missouri Ethics Commission show Koster raised $1.3 million this past quarter and had nearly $5.8 million in his campaign account to start 2016.
Republican John Brunner had $3.6 million to start the year after pouring a similar amount of his own money into his campaign.
Republican Eric Greitens raised $1.5 million during the final quarter of 2015 and had $3.4 million in his campaign account.
Other Republican candidates were further behind financially.
Catherine Hanaway spent slightly more money than she received this past quarter but started 2016 with $1.5 million.
Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder raised $300,000 and reported having $445,000 in his campaign account.
