Breese, IL (KTRS) A juvenile suspect is in custody in connection with the beating death of a high school senior in southern Illinois.
Eighteen-year-old Jacob Arter died after he was taken to a hospital in Breese early Sunday morning. Police say Arter’s assault happened while he was at a party in a rural area of Clinton County.
Arter was a student at Central Community High School. He played on the school’s football team.
School Superintendent Kevin Meyer remembered Arter as a “bright student” and “good teammate.”
