Illinois State Police have been called into investigate a homicide in Washington Park. Police say the incident took place Sunday night around 9:30pm near the intersection of 47th Street and Hallows Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers found a vehicle that had run off the road and crashed. The driver, identified as 24 yr old Anthony Pannell Jr., of East St. Louis, Illinois, had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Also inside the vehicle and suffering from gunshot wounds was 23 year old Amber Bieser. Bieser, was transported to a St. Louis area hospital with life threatening injuries. Bieser’s two year old son, who was in the back seat was not harmed.

There are no known suspects at this time. Anyone with further information is asked to contact CrimeStoppers or Illinois State Police.
