(KTRS) – After a year marred by sexual harassment scandals in Jefferson City, interns are returning to the state Capitol.
There are new rules in place and a renewed focus on sexual harassment after the resignations of former House Speaker John Diehl and State Senator Paul LeVota. Diehl left after exchanging sexually explicit text messages with an intern, and LaVota left while facing allegations from as far back as 2010, although he denied the claims.
The Post-Dispatch reports that on January 11 representatives will attend sexual harassment training–the training will cost taxpayers less than $10,000.
