(KTRS/AP) – More Illinois students are participating in Advanced Placement classes, but they are doing worse on the final exams.
The Chicago Tribune reports about 95,000 students took 176,000 AP exams last May. That is about 25,000 more students that took exams in 2011. The bad news, only about three out of five students received a passing grade.
Students only get college credit for the course if students earn a passing grade.
