( KTRS ) The state of Illinois has resumed sending vehicle registration reminder notices. The service was stopped last year due to the budget standoff.
Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White says the stop-gap budget that state lawmakers passed over the summer means he can resume sending the notices. He’s also drafting legislation that would allow advertisers to use free space on the envelopes.
Motorists are urged to sign up for email registration reminders as a way to save the state the money it costs to send the reminders through the mail.
