(KTRS) – Illinois residents will face new restrictions in 2016 when trying to buy powdered caffeine or alcohol in 2016.

Starting January 1 you must be 18 or old to buy powdered caffeine. One teaspoon of the mixture can be as potent as 28 cups of coffee. Powdered alcohol will be entirely banned. It is already not available for sale in the US.

There are a total of 237 new laws that take effect in Illinois on January 1.
