( KTRS ) The Illinois Department of Labor is carrying out routine inspections of rides and attractions from now through the end of Illinois State Fair.
Inspections at fairgrounds and theme parks has gained national attention recently after a 10 yr old boy while riding the worlds largest water slide in Kansas City, Kansas. The agency say that its inspectors conduct around 4,000 ride inspections at parks, carnivals and fairs around Illinois each year.
The department is also adding two safety-education exhibits at the fair. One is devoted to manufacturing and the other to agriculture.
