( KTRS /KTVI) Homicide detectives are investigating a fatal fire that claimed the lives of two parents and their 11-month-old daughter.
The family was found dead after a fire early Sunday morning in north St. Louis. The fire broke out around 4:40am Sunday morning in the 4000 block of Elmbank. Firefighters report that the house did have working smoke detectors on the second floor of the home.
Fox 2 news reports that the family just moved into the area.
After investigation, police say that 56 yr old Melvin Thomas and 31 yr old Marquita Jones, were suffering from gunshot wounds. A homicide investigation is now underway.
