St. Louis, MO (KTRS) A coalition of more than sixty organizations affiliated with the Black Lives Matter movement is calling for policing and criminal justice reforms.
The agenda released Monday morning titled “A Vision for Black Lives: Policy Demands for Black Power, Freedom and Justice,” calls for the retroactive decriminalization and immediate release of all people convicted of drug offenses, sex work related offenses, and youth offenses.
The agenda also calls for the creation of a commission to study reparations for descendants of slaves. This comes ahead of the second anniversary of the fatal police shooting of Michael Brown.
