St. Louis, MO (KTRS) Governor Eric Greitens is expected to role out a safety plan for the city of St. Louis today.
The Governor will join St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson, along with cabinet directors, local, state, and federal law enforcement, and community and faith leaders to release details of the plan during a news conference at 3 p.m. in the Baden neighborhood of north St. Louis.
Meanwhile, the “St. Louis Post Dispatch” reports that the Missouri Highway Patrol will start patrolling interstates around the city later this month in an effort to free up city police officers to focus on violent crime.
This announcement comes after a violent weekend in the city of St. Louis, with multiple shootings.
The St. Louis murder count stands at at least 99 for the year. Last year St. Louis had 188 murders.
