( KTRS ) A Glen Carbon man has been convicted in the 2013 death of a 5 yr old boy.

Madison County States Attorney Tom Gibbons reports that 27 yr old Tavon Ludy was found guilty Thursday, of 2 counts of first degree murder. The incident took place in September 2013, on 5 yr old Torian Whitaker’s birthday.

Ludy reportedly punched the child in the chest for disobeying him. After a short time first responders were called, but the 5 yr old later died from his injuries. Ludy is also looking at Aggravted battery charges after the victims 10 yr old brother testified against Ludy.

Sentencing is expected to take around 2 months and Ludy is looking at a possible sentence of between 60-100 years due to Torian’s age at the time of the murder.
