St. Louis, MO (KTRS) A former St. Louis police officer won’t get any jail time after pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges of driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident.
On Tuesday, 33-year-old Jason Flanery will was sentenced to two years of probation and must pay for damage to the car he struck and the police SUV he was driving. Flanery’s blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit at the time f the accident on December 19, 2015.
Flanery later resigned from the police force.
Flanery was sued late last year over the fatal shooting of 18-year-old VonDerrit Myers Jr., on Oct. 8, 2014. Flanery was working for a private security company at the time of the shooting. An investigation confirmed his claim that he shot Myers in self-defense.
