(KTRS)-The Circuit Attorney in the City of St. Louis will re-try the case against former death row inmate Reginald Clemons.
The Missouri Supreme Court threw out Clemons’ conviction and death sentence in November. Clemons was previously convicted for the murder of sisters Julie and Robin Kerry on the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge. The Supreme Court tossed the earlier conviction, saying that prosecutors supressed evidence and beat a confession out of Clemons.
Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce tweeted that it would be “a grave injustice to Robin and Julie Kerry not to proceed with trial given the evidence.”
Clemons is still in prison on a separate sentence for assaulting a Department of Corrections employee in 2007.
