( KTRS ) Heavy rain moved into the area early Sunday morning and it’s expected to stay until Tuesday.

Due to this the National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for the greater 550 KTRS-AM listening area. Flooding is expected on the Meramec River at Pacific, Eureka, Valley Park and Arnold. Officials with the NWS say most flooding deaths occur in vehicles at night, as the dark often hides flood waters.

Drivers are urged to use caution when approaching flooded areas. If you come across a road or bridge inundated with flood waters, turn around and find another route.
