Berkeley, MO (KTRS) The cause of a three-alarm fire at a Berkeley gas station is being investigated.
Firefighters responded early Wednesday morning at the Mobil On The Run after the smell of smoke was detected in the building. The fire quickly spread and fire officials say the weather conditions made this fire difficult to bring under control.
No injuries were reported. This is the same gas station where a Berkeley police officer shot and killed Antonio Martin on December 23, 2014. The incident sparked more protests in the area which was already dealing with civil unrest following the shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson in August of 2014.
It was later determined that the officer acted in self-defense after video surveillance showed Martin had pointed a gun at him.
