(KTRS) – Two boys are dead along with their father after an apparent murder/suicide.

The incident began when Christopher Cadenbach took his two sons, five-year old Ethan and four-year old Owen. The boys’ mother called police and an Amber Alert was issued.

Around 8 p.m. Saturday a park ranger at Cliff Cave County Park reported seeing the car described in the Amber Alert. When police arrived they heard shots being fired at the car. They believe this is when Cadenbach shot his sons. Then during a standoff with police Cadenbach turned the gun on himself.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
