St. Louis, MO (KTRS)   A man is dead following an overnight house fire in south St. Louis.

Firefighters were called to a burning home along the 4500 block of Prague at just before 2 a.m. Friday. Firefighters were able to rescue to man who was trapped in the basement, but he died after being transported to the hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Fire investigators say the home didn’t have any working smoke detectors.

The victim’s name hasn’t been released.
