ST. LOUIS (KTRS) The head of Explore St. Louis is asking the NAACP to rescind its recent travel advisory about people visiting Missouri.
In issuing its advisory this past week, the NAACP cited recent passage of a state law that critics say makes it tougher for employees to sue employers over discrimination claims. In a statement, the president of Explore St. Louis, Kitty Ratcliffe, says people take very seriously an advisory from a very credible civil rights organization and urges the NAACP to take another look at the issue.
She points out the bill changes the standards for evaluating employment discrimination cases to a standard that is used by 38 other states and the federal government. She asks why the NAACP has not issued a travel advisory against 39 states as well as the United States of America.
