University City, MO  (KTRS)  An elderly man is dead following a house fire in University City.

Firefighters were called to the burning home on Plymouth Avenue near Pennsylvania at just before 7 p.m. Thursday.  After arriving, firefighters found the 82-year-old victim unresponsive.

He was taken to an area hospital, where he died. The victim’s name hasn’t been released.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but fire officials suspect it was an electrical issue.
