( KTRS ) Police say an elderly couple, found dead early Sunday morning, died in an apparent murder suicide.

Officers were conducting a welfare check, at a home in the 900 block of Parma Drive in West County, when they found the bodies of and 83-year-old man and an 80-year-old woman.

Police believe the man shot the woman, then himself.

The identities of the deceased has not been released at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
