( KTRS ) The Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Charles County is donating 10,000 “drug deactivation pouches” to families in the fight against drug abuse.
The organization teamed up with Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, a leading global specialty pharmaceutical company. The 10,000 pouch distribution program encourages families to become actively involved in the safe and responsible disposal of leftover prescription pain medications.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Charles will help distribute the pouches to parents and families in St. Charles County in coming months. This disposal pouch is a simple, uses regular tap water and deactivates prescription drugs that have been placed inside.
The pouches can then be sealed and discarded with household trash.
