FLORISSANT, MO (KTRS) St. Louis County police say a man who fled police after an officer tried to pull him over was later involved in a fatal accident in Florissant. No names have yet been released.
County police say it began about noon Friday when police spotted a car they considered suspicious in Florissant. An officer tried to stop the car but it sped away. Police say they did not pursue. The car was heading southbound on New Halls Ferry Road and collided with another car that was trying to make a turn onto Sugar Pine Drive. The passenger in the car that was making the turn was killed. The driver of that car is in the hospital in critical condition. The driver of the first car that fled police suffered minor injuries and is in custody.
