( KTRS ) Tuesday night union employees with Dierbergs supermarkets overwhelmingly approved a new three-year contract.

The vote among members of United Food & Commercial Workers was 520 to 107.  Local 655 began negotiations with Dierbergs and Shop ‘n Save immediately following a revised contract accepted by Schnucks employees last week. Shop ‘n Save workers will vote on their contract Wednesday.

The new agreement includes increases in wages, increases in health and welfare contributions.

The union’s current three-year contract expired May 8th but had been extended on a day-to-day basis while negotiations continued.
