The family of a man, badly burned after being caught in the middle of a police chase, say they want answers.
More than 60% of Angelo Gant’s body suffered third-degree burns when his SUV was hit head-on by a car being pursued by police. Brittany Rawls, Gant’s sister, told the Post Dispatch that her brother was moved from Barnes-Jewish Hospital to Mercy Hospital-St. Louis because of Mercy’s burn center. She wants to know why police were chasing the car that struck him. Two people in that car died in the crash.
