( KTRS ) A spokesperson for Gov. Bruce Rauner’s office says, a follow-up meeting with legislative leaders on the state budget is slated for Tuesday afternoon in Chicago.
The Governer met last week with House Speaker Michael Madigan and Senate President John Cullerton for the first time in Months. The leaders have not been able to agree on a spending plan for the fiscal year that began on July 1. Gov. Bruce Rauner has since signed legislation that frees up billions of dollars for local governments.
The Republican governor acted on Monday just hours after the Senate sent him the legislation to provide money for local governments, lottery winners, domestic violence shelters and state government operations.
Tuesday’s meeting will take place around 3:30pm in Downtown Chicago.
