ST. LOUIS (AP) – Authorities say a body pulled from the Mississippi River at St. Louis is a 29-year-old kayaker who went missing last week after hitting towlines between two barges.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the city medical examiner’s office has confirmed that the body recovered Saturday is that of Dalton Bast of Humboldt, Iowa. He disappeared two days earlier after falling from the kayak and failing to resurface.
Bast’s body was found about 10 miles downriver from where he went missing.
