(KTRS) – Governor Jay Nixon is examining a bill that would, among other things, allow Missourians to apply for lifetime conceal carry permits.

The lifetime permits would cost $500 while new 10 and 25-year permits would cost $200 and $250 respectively. This proposal is just one part of a much larger firearms rights overhaul that would make Missouri a “stand your ground” state.

The Post-Dispatch reports that police groups have expressed concern over the stand your ground provisions, but not the lifetime permit proposal.
