( KTRS ) Authorities are investigating after a thief, trying to rob a Gordmans, was able to escape police.

Tuesday afternoon around 2:30pm, officers from the Fenton Precinct responded to a call for a larceny in progress at Gordmans, in Gravois Bluffs. A suspect in the store was thought to be concealing numerous bottles of fragrances under his clothing.

When an officer approached the suspect, he ran out of the store and fell on the parking, the officer then attempted to take the suspect into custody. But the man fought the officer and fled in a dark green Mazda 6, with and a red and white bumper.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the St. Louis County Police Department. The officer sustained only minor scrapes.
