(KTRS) – A tragic end to the search for a missing 3-year-old Iron County boy.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirms that Titus Tackett was found dead in a van. Patrol Sergeant Clark Parrott said they were alerted to boy’s location by someone leaving the home where the van was parked.

Titus was last seen sometime Tuesday night wearing only a diaper. Sergeant Parrott said when he saw the boy, he had been covered by a blanket. An autopsy is planned to determine the boy’s cause of death and Parrott says they will wait for those results before deciding how to continue the investigation.

The boy was found in an area about 90 miles south of St. Louis.
