(KTRS) – The St. Louis City circuit attorney’s office has decided not to press charges against two police officers who shot and killed Kajieme Powell last year.
The shooting happened outstide of a north city convenience store last August. The incident began when officers were called on reports of a shoplifter. When police arrived, they said that Powell refused orders to drop a knife and began moving toward the officers. They then shot Powell, killing him. The entire event was captured on camera.
Police say that analysis of the situation showed that the officers’ use of force was in keeping with training.
